1. Dr. Sebastian is a Specialist in Orthodontics

Orthodontists are specifically trained dentists who specialize in straightening teeth, usually by affixing braces to the patient’s teeth. You might say we specialize in smiles. Orthodontists also perform dentofacial orthopedics. This is a fancy way to describe how we normalize the structure of a patient’s jawbones in order to correct any imbalance in their face. All orthodontists are dentists, but only 6% of dentists are orthodontists. Look for the seal of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Only orthodontic specialists can belong to the AAO.

2. We Offer Airway Evaluations

You might be asking yourself, what has airway got to do with orthodontics? Everyday more research is being published confirming the relationship between the size and position of the upper and lower jaws and the size of the upper airway. Basically, if the orthodontic treatment is performed with the airway in mind, then a larger airway can be obtained in conjunction with straight teeth.

3. Complimentary Consultations

Dr. Sebastian will talk with you about what your treatment options are. Dr. Sebastian (not an assistant) covers your options from least treatment to the most involved treatment, as well as the pros and cons of each. A “best treatment” is always discussed. You will come away from the consultation with the information needed to make an informed decision.

4. We Treat Adults

Dr. Sebastian is highly skilled and proficient in treating older patients looking to enhance their smiles and qualities of life and the percentage of adult patients we serve is much higher than other practices. Dr. Sebastian is very familiar with the concerns older patients have as well as the best way to help them achieve the smiles they’ve always dreamed of.

5. We Use the Latest Technology

The days of “gagging” while having impressions made are over. We now have new digital scanning devices. Also, an ultra-low radiation dose CBCT allows Dr. Sebastian to gather all the information with one radiograph instead of taking three separate X-rays. The radiation dose received is less than one of the old X-rays. In addition, the same radiograph with improved software can be used for upper airway assessment.

6. Our Fee Includes Retainers

At Elite Smiles, we include retainers and one year of retainer checks in the original fee. There are different types of retainers, which include removable (taken in and out) or fixed (a light wire affixed to the inside of your front teeth). Like orthodontic treatment, retainers should be designed to best match the patient.

7. You’ll See Dr. Sebastian at Every Visit

As a one-doctor practice, we are able to ensure that Dr. Sebastian sees each patient at each appointment and that all of our patients’ orthodontic needs can be attended to under one roof. At our practice, you’ll never have to worry about delayed treatments or being at the right place because all of our equipment and phenomenal doctor and team are right here. Dr. Sebastian personally oversees each patient’s treatment course and loves to engage his patients so that they feel comfortable, confident, and relaxed under his care. 8. No-Charge Emergency Adjustments

At Elite Smiles, we typically provide adjustments for poking wires and loose appliances free of charge. If your braces are broken or damaged due to non-compliance with dietary restrictions, this may result in repair charges. With Elite Smiles, if you do your best to avoid breaking your braces and follow the simple dietary guidelines that we will share with you, you should have no additional costs for adjustments throughout your treatment, even if it’s an emergency.

9. One Convenient Office

Our office is designed to be comfortable and relaxing so that our patients can ease their minds off of their treatments and enjoy the time they are spending with us. We offer play areas for children and coffee and tea for other family members. We are even conveniently located right next to Chastain Park, so our patients’ parents can drop their children off for appointments while they relax in the park and enjoy a good book or cup of coffee. We always strive to make our patients the most important people in our office because that is how we see them.
